Management, Management, Managment - This is what builds our company. We
draw from a couuple of companies, their best people for each task at hand.
Those people are typically owners of their businesses and come together as
needed to be the programmers, graphics artists and database developers when
needed. By bringing them together on each project Ironwood's management
keeps focused on making money, timely execution and delivery.
In a sense ware are a 'virtual' company, in that we do not have an office -
lower overheads. But we are also very real because we are onsite or
working face to face with you. This is unlike most SEO companies that work
solely by email and teleconference.
Our History
Ironwood Computer Systems Inc. started in 1978. The primary business was
computer software, services and hardware. Ironwood supplied local companies
systems on a turnkey basis. We sold Data General mini-computers, put inventory
control, distribution software and other unique applications on that hardware
and operated as an OEM. As Ironwood evolved, it created a service beurau,
CADA Data.
CADA as a division processed data for other companies, hosted applications and
provided online access to computers, much like a hosted service today.
CADA processed credit cards (80% of the Canadian Market). Also there was a
software division. This division has evolved to provide web hosting
services offering Domain Registration and Shared/Dedicated website hosting and
email.
The software division sold software to Canada and the US for ‘Forms
Management’ - print on demand. Ironwood’s software division still exists today
and provides this software on a licensed basis to insurance companies, banks and
large organizations internationally (see www.fixpro.com).
The software was developed using SQL and ZIM. SQL is still in sue today,
but ZIM has become a legacy product. Ironwood now also provides ZIM
support to other companies on a consulting basis.
It was through this marketing effort to grow Ironwood that Dan—the owner,
learned to get rankings on search engines.
First it was AOL in the 80’s, then Yahoo and today it is Google. Bing has
entered the market with a storm, and so goes the chase. Many of Dan’s friends
and business associates asked to get their company’s ranked higher and as of May
2009, SearchEngineMississauga.com was born. Search Engine Optimization and on
going maintenance is the primary purpose of the new entity, solely owned by
Ironwood. However, as we all know today, you must have a website that not only
can be found, but than can funnel browsing potentials into the sales lead
process. To this end, Dan has a team of professionals ready to assist. We have
web developers and web graphics artists in addition to Dan’s SEO resource.
CEO Dan Davis
Dan has a Bsc in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Western
Ontario. Starting his career in London ON working for Fred Zabranski and
associates as a computer programmer, Dan continued contracting with CIBC on
their general ledger mainframe.
Dan created Ironwood in 1978 as a numbered company to handle the consulting
business. The name was changed to Ironwood after his father's tree farm in
Embro ON. The wood is extremely hard, rock solid, but can be crafted with
the right tools. A fitting name for a software company.
Locations
The company was moved to Mississauga in 1982 and started in a small one man
office on Maingate at the corner of Maingate and Eglington. Numerous office locations (Dixie Rd, Crestlawn, Britannia Rd, South
Service Road and Sheridan Way in Oakville) were used until the 'virtual company' was established in 2000.
Today everyone works from their homes and connects by internet to get websites
done.
The official office is in Dan's home at Lushes Ave.,, just beside Clarkson Crossing at Southdown and Royal Windsor Drive. The heart of downtown Clarkson
and Lorne Park.
